Yngvild K. Rolland: Bodies and Heads

Installation
Talks +
Thursday, September 8th
Sentralen, 4:00 PM

During Ultima, Yngvild K. Rolland will present an installation with abstract sculptures entitled Bodies and Heads. Rolland connects music and sculpture in new works based on deconstructed and transformed instruments made of brass, such as her compressions of tuba, trumpet and trombone, a project she started in New York in 2012.

Yngvild K. Rolland is a Norwegian visual artist working with a wide variety of media such as sound, sculpture, installation, video, drawing, prints and text. In 2015, she also did a sound performance using a hydraulic press to crush a saxophone during a concert with Rolf-Erik Nystrøm and 13 other musicians. Rolland currently lives and works in Paris and Oslo.
Supported by Billedkunstnernes Vederlagsfond.

Installation opening 8 September, 4 pm. Will be open to the public until 15 September.
Due to Barnas Beste - an event for hundreds of kindergarten children organized by Kulturtanken/Rikskonsertene and Ultima Friday 16 September we unfortunately have to take down Yngvil Rolland’s installation Bodies and Heads. Last chance to see the installation at Sentralen will be Tuesday 15 September.
