Students from the Department of Musicology at the University of Oslo present their composition project. The pieces were written in collaboration with composer and academic Peter Edwards over four workshops during the spring of 2015.
The project is both practical and theoretical and its starting points are geographic locations or buildings in Oslo, including concert venues that have been used for previous Ultima festivals. The students have acquired knowledge about these places and their associated sounds. Starting here, they have developed electroacoustic compositions recounting the history story behind each place.
