Masterclass with Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Tamara Stefanovich
Norges musikkhøgskole/Levinsalen
21/9, 10.00 – 14.00
Free entry
Aimard and Stefanovich perform Karlheinz Stockhausen’s groundbreaking piano duo work Mantra (1970) at Ultima Festival on 20 September at Riksscenen. On the following day, these acclaimed musicians will pay a visit to the Academy to share their experiences with problem-solving in chamber music, and explain how they rehearse, experiment, discuss and think through the notion of playing together. The duo’s repertoire spans an unusually broad range, from Bach to newly commissioned contemporary works.
Hand-picked students and chamber ensembles at NMH will perform contemporary pieces, while Aimard and Stefanovich will offer guidance in a masterclass format.
