Workshop Presentation: Songs for an open space
Oslo domkirke

Oslo Domkor and resident conductor Vivianne Sydnes are on a collective mission to develop new choral repertoire. Over the course of two workshops during Ultima, they have invited young composers to write three to five minutes of a cappella vocal music, to be worked on by eight choir members plus their conductor.
We have invited Lebanese composer and visual artist Zad Moultaka to mentor the project over the two days. Based in Paris, Moultaka has composed numerous works for voices, including ŠamaŠ, his powerful 32-voice multichannel commission for the Lebanese Pavilion at the 2017 Venice Biennale.
The workshop will conclude with a presentation and performance of the six pieces in Oslo domkirke.
In collaboration with Oslo Domkor.
Ultima Context is supported by Norsk Komponistforening, Fritt Ord and Bergesenstiftelsen.
