Gravel and Carte Blanche have created a show based around encounters between people. The stage becomes an arena for an artistic and social experiment in which characters are built up and then erased or ‘disappeared’. Gravel’s choreography is deeply influenced by elements from rock music and performance art, and he enjoys turning dance conventions upside down. The dancers’ movements can be thought of as composed lines of music that they ‘sing’ with their bodies and movements.

But Then, We’ll Disappear (I’d Prefer Not To) highlights the role of the individual in a contradictory world where guilt and celebration are two sides of the same coin.
