Ali Sethi is a writer and successful vocal star born in Lahore, Pakistan. A graduate of Harvard College, he has had success with various hit singles and is the author of the acclaimed debut novel The Wish Maker, as well as a contributor to the New York Times op-ed page. Tonight, Ali Sethi demonstrates his acclaimed, soaring voice – blending elements of Pakistani classical music and global pop. He made his singing debut on Season 8 of Coke Studio Pakistan and was featured on the soundtracks of Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2013) and Sarmad Khoosat’s Manto (2015). As well as appearing at the Traditions Under Pressure event (19/9), he will perform this very special concert, free, in the library at Stovner on the outskirts of Oslo.
